Hee hee :P Um, they tasted like EGGS!!! But the white were a bit more rubbery than ideal.......also the yolk percentage is higher in a quail egg than a regular chicken egg!
I love quail eggs! The yolk is so much smoother and flavorful than the chicken yolk, which is dry and chalky textured. How were the canned ones compared the the fresh ones? Vinegar-y?
This is my super silly Yucky Food blog! No culinary delights - just minor gustatory frights. No perty pictures or fancy kitchen kung-fu. Just crappy Photobooth snaps, short videos of food consumption, and one girl navigating her away around an empty (or just strange) cupboard. It all started cuz someone said, "You're eating what? Show me."
eggcellent

Megalina
"Bet you can't eat 50 eggs!"
ReplyDeleteMy first thought is what do they put in the can to make sure the eggs don't go bad?
ReplyDeleteIsn't that the point of canning? To preserve things?
ReplyDeleteOh my...that's so gross! No offense, I love you Twinkie, but ewwwwww! This is definetley a winner here on I Eat Yucky Stuff!! Ick

ReplyDeleteDiana, the canned ones are not pickled or vinegared....it's just slightly salty :)
ReplyDeletehi! found you on some crochet site. nice stuff you've got!.
ReplyDeletecanned quail eggs? and i usually will eat anything. ...i'll have to give it a try sometime..
Factory Junkie: I think they make for a nice garnish....but are still kinda too rubbery to actually enjoy thoroughly!
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's just me, but I would never classify canned quail eggs as yucky! They're pretty tasty, in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteAgree! perhaps the yuckyness comes from trying to eat a whole can of them? :P heh
ReplyDeletei hate eggs and i love quails and i think it's better to just leave the quail eggs with the quail. eggs are disgusting!
ReplyDeleteThis is just too cute!
